Hello from India. We are in the very South, just getting used to the humidity, and soon to head to the beach. Still having fun. Doug and Janice

Greetings from India. We are heading north tomorrow. We will abandoned the bicycles and go by train. The traffic here is the worst we've seen ( which is saying something) It's the oncoming traffic that causes the most trouble. Trucks and buses will pass 3 or 4 wide ( one passes another, and a 3rd tries to pass them both). Approaching traffic just pulls over in the dirt to avoid them, and if we are there already, a lowly cycle, too bad. Many times there will just be a stalemate when approaching traffic meets. It's incredible. The road completely blocked bumper to bumper in opposing directions, and still they come piling in from the rear on both ends, squeezing into any space they can. The solution seems to be just lay on the horn. It sometimes takes more than a couple of minutes to sort out. I would not have believed it if not seen it. The result is that it takes forever to get anywhere, we are forced to go sooo slow. Time to train it for a while. We'll let you know how that goes.

We are off to Delhi and Taj Mahal today. Travel in this country is difficult, and even tho we have 3 more weeks here, I don't think we'll be sorry to leave. We're still having a blast, but it sure wears on our nerves. And, it's not as cheap as SE Asia. Well, time to leave the I'net cafe, and step back out into the heat.

I am going to attend church more often.
Because if Hell is anything like the experience of independent travel in India, I need to take all steps to ensure I don't end up there.
We are leaving Udiapur today, and off to Mumbai for a few days. Then, out of Asia to Berlin in 6 days. Yipeee!
